As much as Harper is probably wincing right now, I think the real story here is that Michael Ignaiteff decided to prop up the Harper government because he was threatened with retaliation by the CEOs of three major banks from the Canadian Council of Chief Executives.

Good to know where he's getting his marching orders!

Yeah and Harper gets his from the Pope. And?

Seriously tho, a Conservative cabinet Minister, there's a credible source.

I think John McCallum said it best:

“That’s absolutely ridiculous,” he said. “Can you imagine a bank president standing up in a room like that with more than 100 people in the room and saying something like that? It makes no sense.”

I certainly agree that this story needs more looking into; that's why I'm disappointed that the C-H just included it as an after thought--with a perfunctory non-denial denial from the Liberals.

I wish they had interview a dozen of the people who were at that CCCE meeting before alerting the Liberals that they had the story.

Lisa Raitt doesn't have much credibility, but I don't see why she'd lie in a private conversation.

Yeah, I guess you're right. People never lie in private conversations.

So anyway, yeah baby I'm a fighter pilot, would you like to come back to my place and I'll show you my control stick?
