We're ALREADY gaining on the Conservatives!

Ok, so it's only because of a Judicial recount in our favor, but still we now have 77 seats, gaining one at the expense of the BQ in Brossard-La Prairie.

Wooo Hooo! Too bad we couldn't have gotten back Egmont too and kept PEI all red, still we'll get it back next time around, along with a lot more.

Not sure if we're actually gaining on the Conservatives, since that seat in Quebec we picked up via judicial recount was from the Bloc, not the Conservatives.

And there is also Kitchener-Waterloo in Ontario, which flipped to Tory by 48 votes and there's a possibility that it would flip back to the Grits, but that's at this point a guess.

Yeah, but now they only have a 66 seat lead instead of 67!

I know, I'm graspin here.

At the very least, this election has shown that we can win seats from every other party, whether it was Parkdale-High Park from the NDP, Brossard-La Prairie from the Bloc, or Mississauga-Streetsville or the Newfoundland seats from the Conservatives. With a bit more financial support and more voter outreach, we can swing back plenty more of them.

Kitchener-Waterloo is the only potential pick-up from the Cons at this point. Unfortunately the Tories have requested recounts in Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca and Brampton West where in both cases we narrowly beat the Cons. Still, any gains now will come in the next election where I think we have the potential to gain a lot if we do things right. I would like to think we have hit our floor in support, however I hope our party doesn't have that attitude. The kind of attitude that we cannot lose in certain areas is what has gotten us in the trouble we are currently in, so I think we need to not take the 77 seats we have for granted, but at the same time also be optimistic about our chances of picking up ones.
